At LOSFA, we are dedicated to promoting ways for you to maximize gift aid each month; because we know, financial aid begins long before a student has to pay for college.

Here’s our monthly scholarship list. Check them out and see what you may qualify for! 

  • July Scholarships

    ABC Humane Wildlife Control & Prevention, Inc Academic Scholarship

    Due Date: July 1, 2020

    Amount: $1,000

    Eligibility: Open to undergraduate or graduate students who identify as female and will study fields related to STEM at an accredited university for the 2020-2021 academic year.

    Instructions: Write an essay with 1,000 words or less on the topic provided. Follow the instructions on how to submit your essay response.

    Annual General Education Scholarship

    Due Date:  July 1, 2020

    Amount: $1,000

    Eligibility:  Open to all students who are currently enrolled at an accredited college.

    Instructions: Complete the online application and write a 1,000 word essay about what your goals are in education and your plans for after graduation.

    The Cool-Off Now Scholarship Program

    Due Date: July 1, 2020

    Amount: $1,000

    Eligibility: Open to incoming freshman college students and full-time students currently attending a college or university. Must be a current resident of the U.S.

    Instructions: In 750-1,500 words, write a proposal on a new product that could protect people from heat stress and/or damaging UV rays. Proposals should be emailed or sent through traditional mail.

    The Cover Guy 7th Annual Scholarship

    Due Date: July 1, 2020

    Amount: $1,000

    Eligibility: Student must be attending, or enrolling in a university, college or trade school in the U.S. or Canada for the upcoming school year.

    Instructions: Submit an essay on the subject of hot tubs that is between 500 and 1,000 words.

    Harold E. Ennes Scholarship

    Due Date: July 1, 2020

    Amount: $1,500

    Eligibility: Open to students who have a career interest in the technical aspects of broadcasting.

    Solar Scholarship

    Due Date: July 1, 2020

    Amount: $1,000

    Eligibility: Student must be a full-time student (or planning to enroll full-time) at an accredited institution and have a 3.2 GPA.

    Instructions: Submit a 500 – 1,000 word essay on: “What excites you most about the future of solar?” Essays should be emailed to the given address.

    Cheryl D. Conkling Memorial Scholarship

    Due Date:  July 2, 2020

    Amount: $1,500 per semester for eight consecutive semesters  – $12,000 over a 4-year period

    Eligibility:  Applicants must live or attend a school in Windsor, Colorado; Conroe, Texas; Wilkinson County, Mississippi; Baton Rouge, Louisiana or West Feliciana Parish in Louisiana. Student must be enrolling full-time at an accredited university or college. Preference may given to students with hearing or other physical impairments, those not receiving substantial aid, and/or students in Louisiana.

    Instructions: Complete online application which includes showing proof of financial need and a written essay detailing background, interests, and future plans.

    Maple Flooring Manufacturers Association 2020-2021 Academic Scholarship

    Due Date: July 10, 2020

    Amount: $1,000

    Eligibility: Student must be a legal U.S. resident and attend a U.S. post-secondary institution studying one of the listed programs on the website.

    Instructions: Complete the application, which includes a 500-word essay on one of the given topics.

    Bey & Associates Scholarship

    Due Date:  July 17, 2020

    Amount:  $1,000

    Eligibility: Open to students who are in their first year of college or graduate school. Must also be a resident in the U.S.

    Instructions: Complete and submit the application by email, which includes a 500-word essay on: “What does leadership mean to you and what are your personal goals regarding being a leader within your community?”

    Corban Gunn Attorney at Law Scholarship

    Due Date:  July 17, 2020

    Amount:  $1,000

    Eligibility: Open to applicants who are first-year undergraduate or graduate students. Must also be a U.S. resident.

    Instructions: Email all required documents, including a 500-word essay on: “How do you define success? Is this definition different for your own success versus the success of others?”

    Thomas Law Offices Scholarship

    Due Date: July 17, 2020

    Amount:  $1,000

    Eligibility: Students should be currently attending or planning to attend their first year of college or graduate school this fall and must be living in the U.S.

    Instructions: Complete an essay with at least 500 words in response to this quote by Arthur C. Clarke: “Two possibilities exist: either we are alone in the Universe or we are not. Both are equally terrifying.”

    Due Date: July 15, 2020

    Amount:  $750

    Eligibility:  Student must be enrolled in any accredited institution for Fall 2020.

    Instructions: Write an essay with no more than 1,000 words about: How you foresee the internet changing your chosen career in the next 20 years.

    The Ankin Law Office Scholarship

    Due Date:  July 15, 2020

    Amount:  $2,500

    Eligibility: Open to full-time students who are attending an accredited community college, college or university, law school or graduate school starting in the Fall of 2020.

    Instructions: Complete online application and write an essay with no more than 1,500 words on: Ride share apps like Uber and Lyft are making efforts in keeping their customers safe. Do you think their efforts are sufficient and how could they improve?

    Business Research Guide Scholarship for Women Entrepreneurs

    Due Date:  July 15, 2020

    Amount: $1,000

    Eligibility:  Open to U.S. citizens who have been accepted to or are enrolled at an accredited college or university as an undergraduate or graduate student in any major. Consideration will be given to women studying entrepreneurship, business management, or a related field.

    Instructions: Write a business plan essay that is between 500 and 1,000 words.

    Cogan & Power Academic Scholarship 2020

    Due Date:  July 15, 2020

    Amount: $2,000

    Eligibility: Open to any U.S. citizen or permanent resident who will be enrolled full-time, in Fall 2020, at an accredited community college or university and earning credit towards an associate, undergraduate or graduate degree.

    Instructions: Complete the online application and follow the guidelines for a 1,500 word essay on: Describe different jobs you have worked in, the safety risks associated with them, and design a step-by-step guide for the employers with ideas on how to make them safer.

    Eligibility: Open to all students (college freshman thru doctorate) who attend an accredited college, university, or trade school in the U.S.

    Instructions: Create a short 2-minute video about why you should be selected and write a 500-word essay about how you will make an impact in your field.

    Due Date: July 15, 2020

    Amount: $1,000

    Eligibility: Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or permanent U.S. resident who will be enrolled full-time in Fall 2020 at an accredited community college or university in pursuit of an associates, baccalaureate, or graduate degree.

    Instructions: Complete the online application and write a 1,500 word essay based on the topic given about teenage driving.

    Amount: $2,000

    Eligibility:  Open to high school seniors accepted to a four-year university. Students attending a four-year university in the U.S. who have a 3.0 cumulative GPA may also apply.

    Instruction: Write an 800-word essay about your opinion on the importance and efficacy of the 7th Amendment and how it affects your life.

    August Scholarships 2020

    Appel Law Firm LLP

    Due Date:  August 1, 2020

    Amount: $1,000

    Eligibility:  Open to U.S. students who have had injuries from a car or truck accident or have been affected by someone else’s accident. Must be enrolled or accepted to an accredited college or university. Graduate and Law School students may also apply. Students must have a 3.0 GPA.

    Instructions: Complete the online application. Include a copy of the police report of your accident and a one to three-page personal essay. The essay should describe the car accident you were in, how it affected you, and what has changed since the accident.

    Chuan Ai Lu Engstrom Memorial Scholarship

    Due Date: August 1, 2020

    Amount: $1,000

    Eligibility:  Open to full-time students who are enrolled at an accredited U.S. university or college. Must have a GPA of at least a 2.5.

    Instructions:  Write an 800 word essay on the following topic, “Discuss your vision of electronic design, engineering and manufacturing in the global economy.”

    Criminal Justice Scholarship

    Due Date: August 15, 2020

    Amount: $500

    Eligibility: Open to students who are currently enrolled at a post-secondary institution, high school seniors, and recent high school graduates. Student must have a 3.0 GPA and be studying for a career in the criminal justice field.

    Instructions: Complete the online application and write a 1 to 2-page essay on the ambitions, goals and reasons for choosing a career in criminal justice.

    Eligibility: Open to undergraduate or graduate students who are majoring in a medical field of study at an accredited U.S. college or university.

    Instructions: Email the completed application and a 750 – 1000 word essay detailing the importance of jury trials in our society.

    The Kaplan Group Business Scholarship

    Amount: $1,000

    Eligibility: Scholarship is for any undergraduate or graduate student pursing a business or law-oriented degree. Student must also have a minimum 2.5 GPA.

    Injury Scholarship Application

    Amount:  $1,000

    Eligibility: Scholarship is awarded to a student who suffered a serious injury and is pursuing higher education to achieve success. Student must be a senior at an accredited high school or an undergraduate at an accredited post-secondary institution.
