NOTICE: M.J. Foster Promise Program Application Update

The 2025-2026 M.J. Foster Promise Program application closed on 5/29/2026. The 2026-2027 application will be available after the 2026 Regular Session of the Louisiana legislature adjourns. Pending legislation could affect the program’s eligibility requirements, requiring updates to the application before next year’s application is released. HB407 by Representative Larvadain – Would change the minimum age requirement to receive the M.J. Foster Promise Program award to 21 years old in the 2026-2027 and 2027-2028 award years.*

Please note: Any applications submitted prior to the official opening of the 2026-2027 M.J. Foster Promise Program application will be considered invalid. Students who filed an early application must submit the 2026-2027 application to be considered for an award during the 2026-2027 academic year. We will send and post a notice once the 2026-2027 application is available.
