Student Assistance Programs for Adults

Educational Opportunity Centers (EOC): The Educational Opportunity Centers program provides counseling and information on college admissions to qualified adults who want to enter or continue a program of postsecondary education. The program also provides services to improve the financial and economic literacy of participants. An important objective of the program is to counsel participants on financial aid options, including basic financial planning skills, and to assist in the application process. Financial Aid

If you plan to pay for any of your education-related expenses “out of pocket,” it may benefit you to open a START Saving account. The state will match up to 14% of your annual deposits every year and you can deduct up to $2,400.00 in annual deposits from your Louisiana tax liability ($4,800 for a married couple filing jointly).
