Requests for Exception and supporting documentation should be submitted via e-mail to TOPS.exceptions@LA.GOV.

Students are encouraged to use the Student Hub at mylosfa@la.gov/applications/studenthub to monitor their TOPS Award status.

The Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance (LOSFA Programs) is dedicated to maintaining the safety of our students, parents, and stakeholders, as well as LOSFA staff. Therefore, we will be providing services remotely through Zoom one-on-one virtual office hour sessions and events, email, text messaging, fax, phone calls, and through our social media platforms.

2021 High School Graduates who were unable to take the ACT/SAT because of circumstances related to COVID-19 have until September 30 to earn a qualifying score for TOPS, without a semester penalty. The graduate must provide documentation that illustrates:

  • student was registered for a test scheduled on a date prior to the deadline;
  • student’s inability to take the test as scheduled due to circumstances related 13 to COVID-19; and
  • student’s inability to reschedule a test before the deadline was due to circumstances beyond the student’s control.

Need help with your FAFSA?

LOSFA Programs is encouraging the class of 2021 to complete their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by February 1, 2021, through the FAFSA Now Pilot Campaign.

To have financial aid available at the beginning of the fall semester of 2021, seniors should file as early as possible. 

For virtual assistance with completing your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), register here. If you have questions about your FAFSA, email geauxfafsa@la.gov or text ‘LOSFA’ to 50065. You can also use the #GeauxFAFSA hashtag on social media or click here for assistance.

For questions related to how LOSFA assists students with college, career, and/or military applications, email LCAAM@la.gov.

Need to inquire about your TOPS status or submit a Request for Exception?

For questions related to your TOPS status, log onto your Student Hub account. Your account can be accessed by visiting www.mylosfa.la.gov and clicking on the applications tab at the top of the webpage. If you do not have your LOSFA ID number and/or are locked out, email custserv@la.gov.

Requests for an Exception and/or supporting documentation should be submitted via email to TOPS.exceptions@la.gov.

Need to drop off a document to us?

Documents can be submitted via e-mail at custserv@la.gov, faxed to (225) 208-1496, or mailed/dropped off to our office in the Galvez Building on the first floor at: 602 North 5th Street, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70802.

Please note: On-site temperature checks will be conducted, and masks will be required to enter the building.
