Mary Cavalier says being a part of Louisiana GEAR UP has taught her why it’s important to go to college and pursue her dreams. She says she’s excited about being a role model to her younger sister and others.

“It showed me that I need to do better in school, in order to have TOPS. Before [Louisiana] GEAR UP, I wasn’t educated on ACT or SAT.”
