LOSFA Launches Facebook Group for FAFSA® Support

Baton Rouge, LA– To help Louisiana students and parents with the 2025-26 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®), the Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance (LOSFA) has launched a Facebook support group.

The group (Louisiana FAFSA® Assistance with LOSFA) will serve as a supportive community for Louisiana students, parents, and high school counselors navigating the world of financial aid. Members will have opportunities to ask questions, participate in discussions, and access FAFSA-related resources.

Fa-La-La-La FAFSAthon

As schools prepare for the holiday break, LOSFA will hold a virtual Fa-La-La-La FAFSAthon from December 16-20 to allow students and parents to work on the 2025-26 FAFSA® form. Students and parents can register for a session and log on at any time during that window to receive one-on-one FAFSA® completion assistance from a LOSFA representative.

The Fa-La-La-La FAFSAthon will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on December 16 and 18 and from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on December 19 and 20.

U.S. Department of Education Announces FAFSA® Week of Action

The U.S. Department of Education has announced High School Senior FAFSA® Week of Action, set to take place from December 9-13. The Department is encouraging high school counselors, principals, school leaders, superintendents, after-school programs, parent groups, non-profit organizations, and other local and state education organizations to commit to taking action to raise awareness about the FAFSA®, specifically focusing on helping students create their FSA ID, and to help students submit their FAFSA® forms. Simplified and streamlined, the FAFSA® will provide more aid to more students than ever before to help pay for college.
