Louisiana Tuition Trust Authority (LATTA)
The Louisiana Tuition Trust Authority, or LATTA, is a public body comprised of all members of the Board of Regents, the commissioner of higher education or her designee, an officer of a bank in Louisiana who is a member of the Louisiana Bankers’ Association and who is nominated by the association and appointed by the governor, one member of the House of Representatives appointed by the speaker, one member of the Senate appointed by the president, and the state treasurer that serves an ex officio voting member of the authority. LATTA directs the Office of Student Financial Assistance in matters regarding the Louisiana Student Tuition Assistance and Revenue Trust Program—the state’s 529 college saving program, commonly referred to as the “START Saving Program”—as well as the START K12 Saving Program and the LA ABLE 529A Saving Program.
