The Accounting/Finance Student Network Group meets on the 3rd Monday of each month at 7:00 pm and is here to engage, inspire, and connect you to other students and professionals associated with the accounting field. Students receive and share best practices in studying, test-taking, time management, self-care, resume writing and interviewing tips as well as hear opportunities for grants, scholarships, and internship or job placements. We are here to support the students in this group during their post-secondary educational journey. I found the Accounting support group from another coworker at the College of Business at NSU. I chose to stay involved because I saw the impact of it preparing me with important skills to be successful in my field. The interactive discussions as well as important background information on resume building, areas of Accounting, what the industry is looking for, networking, etc. For those who are not currently involved I feel like they will be missing out because it’s not always how much you know, but who you know.
