LOSFA Opens Applications for the 2025 John R. Justice Student Loan Repayment Program

Baton Rouge, LA- As of January 1, 2025, the Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance (LOSFA), a Program of the Louisiana Board of Regents, is accepting applications for the 2025 John R. Justice Student Loan Repayment Program. The program, funded by the Bureau of Justice Assistance, provides five public defenders and ten prosecutors employed within the state of Louisiana with loan repayment if they meet certain eligibility requirements. Interested individuals can access the online application here.

State and federal public defenders and state prosecutors employed in Louisiana must have been employed in a qualifying position for a minimum of one year as of December 31, 2024, and they must agree to remain employed in a qualifying position for at least three additional years. The deadline to apply is April 30, 2025. Applicants must sign and return the Service Level Agreement to be considered for the award.
